[HELP] ideneb 1.3 on Acer 5920g - NO audio and other troubles

hi all,

 

i need some help. i managed to install osx 10.5.5 (ideneb 1.3) on an external hd, but few things work. During installation, in customization options, i choosed nvinject drivers for my video card.

 

First trouble: i must use the -x (safe mode) flag, otherwise (using -v) i get this message:

 

Extension "com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform" has immediate dependencies on both com.apple.kernel and com.apple.kpi; use only one style

 

(repeated twice, and then freezes)

 

With safe mode i can boot in, but i get a long warning message that i can't read, but the first part is "WARNING: sandbox_initerror..."

 

Then, on my first access i was stuck in the first-boot configuration procedure. I followed the advice here:

And i solved (now it asks me root password on login, but i guess i can just add a new account to stay safer).

 

I don't care about video or lan or wlan cards, i just would like the sound card work (intel hda 82801h). So, i tried installing some kext, but with no luck. I tried with:

 

1) voodooHDA 2.7.2 (using the installer from their google code site)

 

2) To_Fix_OSX86_Sound.pkg (found here, i think it installed something like "azalia")

with kext helper and osx86Tools.

 

4) vodooHDA 2.7.2 again, but using osx86tools.

 

No luck with any of them, but i may be making mistakes. I read somewhere i should deal with repairing permissions, but when i try doing this in osx86tools the program gets stucked and i must force quit. I'm not even 100% sure kext are installed correctly.

 

Maybe it's because of the safe mode? There's something i'm missing? There's no hope?

There's something i can try? Maybe another distro, that can sure work with my pc?

ok, it was the safe mode.

 

i repaired the ACPI error following this thread:

leopard started without troubles and i could hear sound!

 

however thanks, most of the informations and tips came from this forum
