aol
Just looking for some quick suggestions about where to start looking. I've had a dual monitor setup going for months, and about two months ago, I swapped out a 22" Apple Cinema Display (the old crystal guys) and swapped in a new 24" Apple LED Display (the new ones designed for mini display port MacBook Pros). However with the new 24" display on there, it would irregularly but often blink off for a second then come back on as suddenly. I swapped it back out for the 22" display and the problem went away. Recently I've acquired another 24" LED display and swapped it in, and the problem returned. So this is a different monitor of the same type. The 24" LED display is connected to the DVI port on the back of the video card via a DVI-to-MDP adapter. It is a little white box with a separate power supply, and it has a USB cable as well. I have a 700W PSU. Is the problem likely to be that the monitor isn't getting a strong enough signal? Could this be because of the PSU, the video card, or the adapter? Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot this would be awesome. Note that when the 24" display blinks off, the second monitor doesn't miss a beat. Is this blinking likely to be damaging my monitor? Cheers and thanks. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/238771-flashingblinking-24-apple-display/ Share on other sites
