UW-
Hi all, I have this laptop - a Packard Bell MV46-004. It's a few years old now, can't remember how many exactly. It's got the following hardware: Intel Core Duo T2050 (http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=27231) Intel GMA945 Chipset Intel 945GM Graphics Realtek RTL8100 network adapter Realtek ALC883 HD Audio 5268 I'm basically wondering if you think it will be feasible to install OS X on it? I had a MacBook for a while and was rather fond of it, but I don't have it anymore and rather miss it. I'd like to get Mac OS X running on this bad boy. Ideally Snow Leopard but I would settle for Leopard if that's more realistic. I tried installing iAtkos S3 on it with no luck - I followed the installation instructions quite closely and I have a pretty good idea what I'm doing, but the best I could get was "Your computer needs to be shut down" as soon as I turned it on. It does mention that Intel GMA950 should be fine, but GMA945 isn't mentioned, so that could pose a problem. It currently has 768mb of RAM, which is hardly ideal. I'll upgrade it if necessary but that's not a major concern since I can't really see how RAM will prevent it from installing properly altogether, and would rather just affect the performance (Correct me if I'm wrong here). The main questions I'd like to ask are: - What are my chances of getting Mac OS X running on this puppy? - Would you recommend Snow Leopard or just Leopard? - Is there a particular version I should use? Would iAtkos be the right choice here? Thanks in advance! Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/238702-is-my-laptop-a-lost-cause/ Share on other sites
