Hello,

No microphone on SL 10.6.5 with Audio ALC888 in Motherboard GA-EG41MFT-US2H. Intel core 2 quad 8400, asus nvidia 7600 GT.

Microphone hardware is working as i tested on windows 7.

Details on the installation :

I have installed SL from the retail DVD 10.6.3 with #####. The .DMG of the ##### method would not mount (unrecognized dmg file from the tuto : http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/04/ibo...c-os-x-on.html)

so I updated to 10.6.5 with the software update.

All hardware is working, no kernel panic so far. Audio output is working after update.

I did not test the mic before the update. Only after, and noticed it didn't work : no sound recorded when testing the microphone in the Audio of the Pref. panel.

Tried then to install the AppleHDA kext drivers from the ##### ones. This didn't change the issue. The sound was working fine, but no mic. I removed them and tried installing voodooHD kext, still from #####. For the latter with preference panel tool, I had the "can't map memory error". Thus i tried installing myself older versions of voodooHD with the kext helper, but still no success.

Is there a more a specific version some Audio kext driver that I should use for my configuration ?

Other softwares/drivers to install in a specific sequence ?

Any other idea ?

I attached the screenshot of the Audio information, which contains nothing much...

Thanks.
