KeiCar
Hey people, I figured if I was going to ask a question for my first post, it better be a good one... Anyways, I think I'm going to dual boot my aspire1: Win 7 & OSX Leopard. My only concern is that I am locked out of the bios. I got the netbook used and there is a password on the bios. I long forget the guys name or # from craigslist, so there is no getting in touch with him to get the password, if he even remembered it that is. It wasn't until a few months after ownership that I discovered this issue. Anyway, I never did the hackintosh thing before, so I'm not sure what I would need to adjust in the bios, if anything at all. My machine can boot up a usb drive (to install with) before booting the internal drive, so there should be no install worries. I installed windows 7 off a thumbdrive this way. The netbook runs fine and everything works, so I don't think anything was disabled in the bios. Does installing a hackintosh require certain features in the bios to be changed / disabled? Guess I'll find out soon enough. 2nd question. I would like to build a super small htpc / emulator game box. I am looking at the small form factor motherboard options out there, like the mini itx and smaller (pico & nano). I don't see much online about running osx on them. Are their any specific features of items on the motherboards that I should look out for / or avoid? I know that OSX runs on x86 intel hardware, correct? Do the Via processors run the same code? Do they have a "emulate intel processor" function to fool the osx into thinking its a genuine intel product? adamj
You probably will have to reset it manually on the motherboard Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/238565-bios-password-mini-nano-pico-itx-questions/#findComment-1594397 Share on other sites
