Hi,

Is it possible to install MacOSX SnowLeopard on a computer based on Pentium 4 Prescott, 3.4GHz processor?

I tried installing it on VirtualBox from Windows7 and as my processor doesn't support hardware virtualization, I was unable to proceed with the installation. I tried passing -v arch=i386 flag after ignoring the no hardware virtualization error message by VB. But that didn't help.

Now I would like to know if it's really possible to install it directly on my PC.

My system configuration:

Intel Pentium 4 HT 3.4GHz Prescott processor,

Nvidia Geforce 9400GT Graphics card,

2GB ram

Thanks for any support

yes you will need the legacy kernel 10.2.0

get leohazard install dvd

start with this under customize

mac osx 10.6.2

chameleon 10.5

legacy kernel 10.2.0

install with these and see how far you get

Thanks, I will try that out and let you know the results soon.

well here's the thing I read somewhere that doing a snow leopard install In a real mac required 1gig of memory and that guy's would install on a machine with one gig then transfer that image to a mac with less ram and things would work out.

Whoever osx installer checks to be sure there was at least 1gig if not it refuses to install.

The only suggestion I can give is to skip the dvd verification and see if it installs then.

right now what your tellig me is I can't help much

1) do you have 1 gig of ram

if you have one gig of ram and the installer verification it fails then you have a bad DVD burn or even possibly a corrupt iso.

2) if you do not have 1 gig of ram it could still be 1 or that you need at least 1 gig of ram.

I've 2 GB of ram and the dvd passes the verification even though I get the same error again and again.
