pwadoc Posted November 28, 2010 Share Posted November 28, 2010 I'm hoping someone will be able to help me with a somewhat baffling problem involving my 9800 GT. I'm using a MyHack (chameleon I believe) firmware with a retail 10.6.5 install. The monitor I'm using currently works via a byzantine ADP to DVI contraption that actually works fine with my 9800's DVI output. However, I recently acquired a 21" Dell monitor that only had VGA and HDMI inputs. I've tried both with DVI to HDMI cables, DVI cables with an HDMI adapter, and DVI cables with a VGA adapter, but I can't get the monitor to accept any input once the OS boots past the grey and white apple screen. What's strange is that the monitor does display everything up to the grey and white apple screen, albeit stretched. Any suggestions are appreciated. pwadoc Posted November 28, 2010 Author Share Posted November 28, 2010 I have played around with the connection a bit more today, and I managed to get the monitor working over VGA by connecting my old monitor and then connecting the new one. DVI, however, still doesn't work and prevents my old monitor from working after trying to plug in the new one via DVI. Both monitors stay black and I have to restart the machine via terminal.
