Okay,

I've come to this forum for help before and people have been really helpful and nice, so it was the first place that came to my head when I vaguely thought of installing OS X on my AMD system.

Now, I got 10.6.2 working much better than I'd expected on my Core 2 Duo (now Core 2 Quad) system, complete with audio, USB, wireless Internet, and proper graphics. But of course, Macs use Core 2 processors and have done for quite some time, so there is the most information on those and they seem to have the best all round compatibility.

What I really want to know is whether or not I can install OS X on the same hard drive as Windows. I went to download Empire EFI but saw something new called Nawcom's BootCD, dubbed "The successor to EmpireEFI". It seemed to say that it was possible to install OS X on an MBR partition alongside Windows when using this bootloader.

So, what I need to know is if it is possible to do that and have them dual booting together, and if I should be able to actually get OS X working on that system. I'd be using the integrated Radeon HD 4200 graphics and an Ethernet connection for connecting to the Internet. I'd also be using the integrated Realtek HD audio in stereo.

The full configuration is as follows:

  • AMD Athlon II X2 250 3.0GHz
  • MSI 785GM-E51
  • 2x2GB DDR3 1333MHz 7-7-7-20
  • Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB SATA
  • Lite-On SATA DVD+/-RW/RAM Burner

So, would it be possible to get OS X up and running on that system including audio, Internet, and graphics? It's only running at 1024x768 anyway.

What would I need to do to get that working?

Thanks :(
