can you see the legacy_kernel inside your extra folder? I got both of them, mach and legacy. and another legacy.old which is the older kernel i've used before.

i can see both the legacy and the mach kernel files in the root directory of my SL installation. I can even see the legacy.old file there... not in the extra's folder...

but my question is why is the boot.plist not loaded from the extra's as in that i have given my kernel to be legacy_kernel

http://www.hackint0sh.org/f181/56876.htm can i follow this guide to do a reinstall of my EFI bootloader partition for my system ... i think that is the problem as i once did install something into it without my knowledge... i think it was chemeleon but a frevious release or something...

i have sucessfully broke my system... now i think my only option would be to go ahead and install a fresh from 10.6.3 -> 10.6.4-> 10.6.5. I just changed the bios file and i think my bios is on the most advanced version so many of the features went bersack.. neither the direct HDD loading nor the ##### version lets me into SL. I have uploaded the pics for both these options... .. I changed that to FB and then voila... everything stop working ... now i can just start with the usual DSDT files(available with many websites) and then work my way up thru this... btw... is there any way to just extract my applications files and the home directory from my backups... could anyone please guide me thru this..

thanking you

Rajesh Medampudi...
