Noob here to the forum,

I have installed iatkos S3 Snow Leopard to a P4 and have everything working including my NVIDIA 8600GT using EFI string since none of the NV* enablers would recognize correctly my video card (Natit would somewhat recognize it, but it would have the RAM wrong).

When I have it connected to my monitor E-Machines E233H it boots up and works fine. However, I wanted to use this PC as a media center on my game room. When I try to boot with the PC connected to the TV, it will fail to boot, saying " still waiting for root device"

The only way to connect with the TV connected to the PC is to delete the EFI string and to boot in safe mode or single user, but in either case I get no real graphics card so no video playback is possible.

Is there anything else that can be done to get the system to boot when connected to an HDTV. BTW, the problem seems to only occur when connected in DVI mode, seems to work correctly in VGA mode on one of my HDTV's but the one I wanted to set it up on only has a DVI input.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Remove any injector (Efistring, NVenabler, natit) and insert in com.aoole.Boot.plist this two strings:

<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>

<string>Yes</string>

You must have a compatible boot file (almost PC-EFI 10.5, I reccomend Chameleon 2.0 RC4).
