nickromeo
This was intended to go in the asus g50 Forum but since I am a new user I can not post in there. Please Moderators If you can move this to the ASUS G50 forum and allow me access to that forum that would be super cool. HI everyone. i have successfully set up mac OSX 1.6.5 on my g50. A few thing are not working so ill go through my setup. firstly i'd like to thank everyone who has posted and contributed to this! I used the tonymacx86 method (##### PLUS #####) If you have not visited that website please do a google search for tonymacx86, its a really good method. My goal here is to get as many things working natively as possible. My understanding is that the Chameleon bootloader Looks for the DSDT.aml on the OSX partition and addresses the ACPI components accordingly. Im using the "easy beat" DSDT for now, but I am really hoping to get the FN keys and Video card to function natively (without NVinject). right now I boot set up chameleon to have graphics enabler on. I was looking through this thread and saw that there was a DSDT file, that claims to have the onboard graphics functioning without addition kexts loaded (into either the bootloader or OS) To my understanding i have GUID + GPT functioning correctly because i used system rescue CD in linux to configure it. My hard Drive configuration is diskos1 - EFI FAT32 (i boot installed) I think how i boot works is that it installs chameleon and then loads the kexts from the OSX drive? disk0s2 - OSX 10.6.5 128 unallocated disk0s3 - OSX 10.6.3 (Not Booting, Having a Kernel Crash thing shut down message - possible solution bless command) 128 unallocated disk0s4 - NTFS - empty Is there a DSDT that addresses the ACPI CORRECTLY for the VIDEO, ESATA, KEYBOARD (for FN keys)? My Model is a G50-x5 with 1378 resolution 4 gigs of ram and 2.13 if that helps. I have Bios version 213 not sure if that matters cause it will boot from EFI. Right now I am using a Usb keyboard, i did the 10.6.2 rollback but didint do the ps2 voodokext. I did install the voodoo battery and voodoo HDA. Also depending on what kext Is applied for the keyboard, the windows button acts as command, or the alt acts as command. backspace does not apply delete.
