Jwoofter Posted November 21, 2010 Share Posted November 21, 2010 So I'm still a noob but I'm lernin I've been running Jas 10.4.11 on my old P4 so I thought I would take a crack with Leopard on another old P4! Specs: 3.2 GHZ P4 512 Megs of Ram 200 GB IDE/ATA Drive Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 HP Media Center m480n Issue: I've tried all the different distros and the only one that worked for me was iAtkos v7. It actually installed but would hang after restart...the usual problem right!!! So I tried to boot with -v but it just froze on a black screen. I tried booting -x -v and -s before that and they all worked but again froze at the usual apple logo spot. So I did some research and didn't find anybody else with a similar problem. I messed with the settings and reinstalled a couple times but no luck. I tried different releases of iAtos including v2, 5i, and v1 but none worked, only v7 worked. What cold be up? Am I destined to only run tiger? I suspect my video card as I've read support for the 5200 is nixed in leopard but I know that it is possible to install leopard on a machine using that card and even to have full QE/CI. I read it on this forum! I would have a picture of the verbose but like I said it wont do it. Can somone tell me how to get the verbose message? thamajickwan Posted March 27, 2011 Share Posted March 27, 2011 man I think I am going to post my results, I have gotten my asrock p4 3.2 3gb nvidia6600 booted to safe mode through trial and error knowing very little about hackintosh at all it has been fairly simple in the past playing with it and finding guides online though every time I have found a p4 thread it tended to be a flame thread from pompous jerks whom most likely dont know how to do it so they feel big talking garbage. atleast this thread you didnt get flamed This "NOOB" is going to figure out what he can and maybe I/some of the members help the rest of the noobs out. Having said that Perhaps I could get some older links and some information from the mature knowledgeable members so I can compile a p4 iaktos thread. there are litterally 100s of unanswered threads out there on a p4 iaktos v7 build and I am yet to find the answers I/they wanted.
