HcMtnBiker
So I've installed 10.6.3 Retail using the ##### method. It runs flawlessly out of the gate, but there is one large problem I've been having that has made me restore a few times now. Whenever I attempt to install an Apple rollup, either the 10.6.4 or 10.6.5 combo updates I'll get a KP during the final steps; specifically "Moving items into place...". The current install will fail to do anything after this, hard KP and reboot. It's prolly something stupid but I cant figure out what it is and wondered if anyone had any ideas. -The suspect is an ASUS UL80: Specifically the UL80J-BBK5. -It's an NVIDIA Optimus, but set up to only show OSX the 310M. -I'm booting from ##### with "-x busratio=9" for the flag/switches(when its working, and the bus ratio is correct for the ULV i3 in it). I suspect it not correctly identifying the CPU to be part of it, and actually part of the reason I want to update to 10.6.5 for the i3 support.
