NodTerrorist
Been Lurking a while, but this is my first post since I couldn't find an answer in the posts that have already been made. Info about my machine: Used #####+##### -> ##### method to install OSX 10.6.3 Updated OSX to 10.6.5 using software updates. Everything worked well except for my video card, which is a nvidia geforce 240 gt. Compiled a DSDT with my video card information and now that is working. The video card shows up correctly within the System Profiler with 1028MB of VRAM and I am able to change the resolution. Removed GraphicsEnabler from start up and any NVEnabler kexts. Now, an explanation of my problem. I usually use my hackintosh at work. I do technical support for both PCs and Macs (mainly PCs). I remote into the hackintosh using a program called LogMeIn since the hackintosh is about 40 miles away at my home. I also use LogMeIn to connect remotely to my PC. During my time using LogMeIn on the PC, I had noticed that graphically intensive programs like games tend to not work and believe that LogMeIn may be disabling some video options so that it can share the screen remotely. While assisting an individual, I had attempted to install Final Cut Studio on the hackintosh. The first step the installation takes is to test if FCS can be installed on the computer, and I get an alert with several errors. Installer needs 128 MB of VRAM. Currently you have 0 MB of VRAM. Installer requires a Quartz Extreme capable video card. Installer recommends a color depth of 32. This system currently has a color depth of unknown. I believe this could be caused by a couple of different things, but I am looking for opinions on what could be causing this or ideas on how to fix it. Things that I think could be going on: - FCS cant be installed on a hackintosh, and I am wasting my time. - LogMeIn is limiting the video so that Quartz Extreme is not enabled and whatever the installer is using to test this information is not working properly as a result. - I suck at patching the DSDT and set something up wrong. - Since I do not have a monitor currently connected to it, this is what is causing problems. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
David23
install asere as bootloader and download lizard, select graphics injection and save the file, after reboot and you'll have QE enabled. no DSDT needed.
