drewg23
Hi, Im new to all this and would love to have Mac on my PC. I have tried 3 different software versions/boot cds of Mac. All 3 ended up with the constant restarting problem. I would boot the cd then everything seems to work fine/installs fine, but when the computer restarts after downloading the Mac software and I select Mac to boot from the boot menu, the computer tries to load Darwin or Mac and just restarts. Help would be greatly appreciated. Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/237423-computer-constant-restarting/ Share on other sites
David23
What's your CPU? you need the right busratio value... Try booting with busratio=20 P.S. is better if you put your hardware into your signature Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/237423-computer-constant-restarting/#findComment-1585779 Share on other sites

After I got kalyway loaded I could load iatkos v7. I think was a hard drive thing for me since I had windows 7 loaded on the drive. But yea, u need to post specs. You might try this as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5nHCRlqtFc It looks insanely easy. I'm about to try it out. ;-) Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/237423-computer-constant-restarting/#findComment-1585835 Share on other sites

He probably forgot to put in a patched kernel and his CPU doesn't support vanilla kernel... or he's using AMD and the distros he used doesn't support his CPU. It's like this: Me: My car will not start. It cranks but will not turn over. You: It's your timing belt. You assumed it's timing belt, but my car doesn't have timing belt since it's a rotary engine, and you didn't know about it because I didn't tell you. My point is, we can't troubleshoot without knowing what and where the problem is coming from first, IE... Specifications. drewg23, Can you post your hardware specs? (I lost count how many times I've said that this week alone...) Soooo, I tried kalyway and installed on first go. After that I tried iAtkos again and it worked great. Just trying to help someone that had same problem as me.
