rowababuh
hi there. thanks singmelya. i used this program called everest ultimate to generate the report. anybody can provide any advice on this matter?
atbrace
Don't know til you try...have you tried booting from the disk yet?
rowababuh
nope not yet. I'm just cautious/curious as to whether if anyone had success with a similar set-up, because the whole AMD/ECS combo doesn't make many appearances here in the osx86 scene. Yep wanted to see the response before giving a shot.

rowababuh
hi people. so i changed bios settings to AHCI and all, and can successfully get into install screen with -v. after formatting the hard disk to mac journaled, I was able to hit install with the drivers i selected however it is stuck at 18 minutes left for what seems to be an eternity. 2 hours to be precise. I am quite certain that there is no progress, because the hard disk is cold and the progress bar does not animate, showing only a static pattern of blue. (the cursor however, moves) any help is greatly appreciated.
apatsufas
Type -v cpus=1 busratio=14 when you boot and see what happens. Also disable C1E Support in BIOS if available.
rowababuh
hi i just tried that, but i was yet again stuck at 18 minutes left. this time the blue bar animates but the disk turns cold again. i waited for about 30 minutes before giving up. do you have a gauge of an appropriate amount of time to wait? I don't remember the exact time but it shouldn't take that much. Are you installing on an sata drive or an IDE one?
rowababuh
i am not sure but i disabled the onboard IDE and changed SATA mode to AHCI. apparently that does not suffice. will trying another distro like iDeneb provide more success? because i saw on youtube a phenom/ecs set-up that worked with ideneb. speaking of which, what is the latest version of ideneb available? source seem to suggest only 10.5.
