pp611
I just updated the system from 10.6.4 to 10.6.5. Since the IOUSBFamily.kext causes crash when connecting to an external USB drive so I reverted IOUSBFamilty and IOUSBMassStorageClass both to the ones in 10.6.4. But system cannot recognize an exFat formatted USB drive when connected. However the Disk Utility can recognize it but cannot re-partition it as exFat. FAT works fine. I guess the new IOUSBFamily or IOUSBMassStorageClass kexts did some thing for exFat but they cannot be used at this time. Anyone has a fix for it? pp611
The post you mentioned is for SD card reader. Does it have anything to do mass storage's exFat format?
3.14r2
...Does it have anything to do mass storage's exFat format? Some SD cards have the above file system, so it is supported by the extension in the post. Though if you reverted back some kexts, it may not work correctly.
pp611
No luck for me. I think my X61's card reader is not USB based. Could not follow the instruction. Maybe it has something to do the the new USB kext, which cannot be used.
