PhxJim
Hello all, I have just built a retail 10.6.3 box and I am having a network issue. After the initial install I ran myHack and ran the default setup so I could boot directly off the disk. This issue has to do with the fact that I can boot off my Empire EFI disk, then tell it to boot my drive and the network works fine. But, if I boot directly off the disk (no DVD bootstrap), then the OS says my network is unplugged. Boot again with the DVD and everything is fine. Just for grins, while the system was running, I did try unplugging the cord and reinserting it, but no difference. OK, I am sure that this is some simple thing to figure out, but I am not sure where to start looking. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim
PhxJim
OK, I am still not sure why it works when booting off the Empire EFI CD, but I did find that Realtek has a OS X 10.6 driver for their chip set (which is what I have) and all is now well.
