Ok i've installed 10.6.4 using #####, installed the snow leopard graphics update, then ran ##### to put in custom kexts for the 5970, ran it again to repair permissions, haven't done anything with DSDT afaik (cos i haven't a clue about it and it doesn't seem to be necessary).

System:

Motherboard: GA-x58a-UD3R

i7-930

6gb ram (OSX recognises only 4gb of it for some reason)

graphics: XFX 5970 (2x 1gb)

Oh running 64-bit mode, graphics enabler = yes and it boots fine at the correct resolution. Don't think there's anything i missed out

Anyway following all those steps i managed to get it to recognise my card properly in system profiler (2nd gpu disabled) its running at max resolution for my monitor which is 1920x1080x32 so everything is fine i just don't have hardware acceleration, i've ran OpenGL Extension viewer and it shows it's running on Apple Software at the moment even though my card is recognised in the profiler.

So i know QE/CI aren't enabled, my question is; How do i enable hardware acceleration and fix it so i have working QE/CI for my system? Any clues people, i've read about 10,000 posts on insanelymac.com, kexts.com, tonymacx86.com, netkas, etc etc
