mark90_2k2
Hey, I've searched an awful lot to try and get this to work and I feel close, but I'm still missing something. I am trying to install 10.6.4 retail. I have an MSI P35 Neo-F with patched bios and an Intel e7300 CPU. I have a SATA HDD in SATA 0 and a DVD-RW in 1. The bios does not allow AHCI and has to be set to IDE. #####, empire EFI and similar boot disks don't boot. They get to "mounting: done" then hang. I have 10.5.6 currently installed to an external USB and booted in, mounted the .dmg and installed Snow Leopard to my SATA drive then installed chameleon to the install directory. When I reboot I can boot into chameleon on the SATA drive and see the OS X install. I can then get to the grey screen with apple logo and spinning icon but a "no entry" sign appears. On boot with -v it shows "waiting for root device" after "applecpupowermanagement initialised". I'm pretty sure it has something to do with not being able to use AHCI and I have tried adding a custom kext through 10.5 to the 10.6 install to make it support ATA but this fails too. I'm at a bit of a loss now. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
