I installed Jas 10.4.6 into a usb-hdd on my notebook thinkpad T60. It can boot from usb-hdd. The OS of my notebook is Windows XP pro. To make a dual boot, I copy the chaino file to C:\, then add "C:\chain0=MACOSX" to boot.ini... but a "chain0 boot error" message was the result.

Hi

Try using the guide at profit42.com for making your thinkpad dual boot. The guide is good because it doesnt involve using any chain commands. Instead you just gotta use Acronis Disk Director Suite which takes care of dual booting for you. Which is good since obviously you are getting an error due to chain. Try using the guide

you can find it at

And then tell me how did it go by replying to this topic. If you need some other help on the guide just ask ur question in this thread only, ill be happy to help.

Another Earthling

1) Is your OSX partition named "MACOSX" (ie, did you spell it correctly?)

Yes, in OSX , it is, But I donnot think it's a point.

2) I believe that chain0 looks for a partition whose type was set to ID=AF

Yes, I made the partition set to ID=AF.

thank you.
