trozminster
I've reached a dead end... Having had a successful install with ##### and ##### in 32 bit, with my 5670 using ATY_Init, I took the plunge for 64 bit kernel using Kabyl boot and GraphicsEnabler=Yes. In the process I deleted AppleSMC.kext which may or may not be relevant... Starting in safe mode, these are the last few relevent lines of system.log with spacing for clarity: com.apple.kextd[10]: /S/L/E/IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext/.../ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext - no dependency found for com.apple.driver.AppleSMC Can't load /S/L/E/IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext/.../ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext - failed to resolve dependencies Failed to load /S/L/E/IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext/.../ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext - (libkern/kext) dependency resolution failure Load com.apple.driver.ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin failed; removing personalities Failed to load /S/L/E/AudioIPCDriver.kext - (libkern/kext) link error Load.com.apple.driver.AudioIPCDriver failed; removing personalities /S/L/E/Dont Steal Mac OS X.kext - no dependency found for com.apple.driver.AppleSMC Can't load /S/L/E/Dont Steal Mac OS X.kext - failed to resolve dependencies Failed to load /S/L/E/Dont Steal Mac OS X.kext - (libkern/kext) dependency resolution failure Load com.apple.driver.Dont Steal Mac OS X.kext; removing personalities com.apple.kextcache[83]: Dont Steal Mac OS X.kext - no dependency found for com.apple.driver.AppleSMC. JMicronATA.kext does not declare a kernel dependency; using com.apple.kernel.6.0. Created prelinked kernel /S/L/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup/kernelcachei386.D1010E3F and that's it - without verbose bootflag hangs at grey apple screen with spinning clockwheel for 12minutes + In normal (non-safe) mode, system.log hangs at same last line - with kernelcache_x86_64 instead. I can reproduce in detail but as it hangs at same line in safe mode I assume the main problem to be also present in safe mode. Is the (deleted) AppleSMC.kext the problem here? I stupidly didn't back it up - can someone post a 10.6.4 version if they think it necessary? I'll give it a bash if that's the problem.
