mathq
Hello there, In System Profiler, in the Diagnostics category, in Hardware tab, I've got a "Failed" result. And the Type is the memory. I'm just wondering if it is normal or if I have to care about it. Also, in Software Updates, I have an update for the graphics card. I'm not using any kexts for the graphics because it works with GraphicsEnabler=yes. I'm also wondering if I should do or not this update. I have screenshots here: Thanks, xmath279 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/235332-just-wondering/ Share on other sites
3.14r2
Probably you need to fix the SMBIOS.plist (if you use it). Or change the boot loader. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/235332-just-wondering/#findComment-1570229 Share on other sites
mathq
Okay but if i don't change anything, could it harm the system in any ways? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/235332-just-wondering/#findComment-1570230 Share on other sites
Gringo Vermelho
Yes, there is always that possibility. However compatible your hardware might be, OS X is not meant to run on it. mathq
Okay, so should I remove Mac OS X from my computer? I don't want it to get broken But, I don't understand how a "software" could harm your hardware... Gringo Vermelho
Sorry, I misread what you said. No, not having that information in system profiler, or getting a 'failed' message cannot damage your computer. Fix it or leave it broken, your choice. mathq
Thank you very much! Your help is greatly appreciated. Now, if anybody could tell me if I should do the Graphics Card's update (i'm using GraphicsEnabler=yes) or not, this would be appreciated too. Thanks everyone, xmath279 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/235332-just-wondering/#findComment-1570649 Share on other sites
3.14r2
Clone your system using CCC or any similar application to a different HDD and do update. Most likely it will not do any harm.
