shiroitaka
Hello everyone, just thought I would ask for some advice on this, i am trying to get OSX running stable on my ACER Aspire 6935 (not 6935g) It has: Intel Cenrino Dual Core 2.2 3GB Ram Nvidia 9600M GS Cuda Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114 Ethernet card Intel WIFI Link 5100 AGN Synaptics trackpad acer crystal eye webcam I chose the options: English Customize: Bootloader - Chameleon v2 RC5 Bootloader Options - 32-bit boot, Graphics Enabler, Ethernet, USB (all), Quiet Boot, Legacy Logo Patches - Extra Dir, fakesmc, disabler, RTC (32bit), EVO Reboot, Sleep Enabler, USB Drivers - Main Hardware: Sound: Voodoo HDA & Apple HDA 10.6.2, PS/2: Voodoo ps/2 cpu power management: Voodoo P-State Laptop Hardware: *All* VGA: nvidia: Enablers - NVEnabler v0.1b Network: Wireless - *All* Wired - *All* Language Translations - *All* I can get iATKOS to install using the above settings but with the below issues, the ethernet, keyboard, touchpad, bluetooth and graphics card seem to be running fine as well as the sound and most of the audio controls. All this is running from the 4th partition on the HD (1st is win 7 sys 100mb, then 2nd win 7 os, 3rd windows documents & 4th mac Journaled). I find if I try to update Safari, iTunes or the Mac update I get a kernel panic and have to reinstall after? If it goes into sleep I cant awaken it again and have to turn off and on (which sometimes causes kernel panic) I have had a search on he forums but believe the intel wifi 5100 is not supported which is a shame It also recognises the webcam but does not display a picture from it? Is there a way to safely update and a possibility of drivers for the other items? Any tips, hints or solutions would be fantastic Thanks Update: have got rid of sleep enabler and trying to update now is there an easy way to recover if the update kills the install? I keep reinstalling it otherwise.
shiroitaka
Sorry for replying to my own post but is there a quicker way of fixing a panic freeze after an update as I ran the combo update to 10.6.4 and now every time I boot into osx it freezes with the hold power to shut down logo.
