I've got almost everything working on my new hackintosh. I however have been unable to get the sound working. It's integrated into my mobo:

Intel D945GTP

-Chipset i945p/pl/g/gz

In windows my sound card shows up as ATI RV620 Audio, but that's my video card. Right now OSX just shows Digital Out HDMI as my sound option. I've got HDMI on my video card, but that's not my sound card.

I tried installing the voodooHDA, but that didn't add anything to my sound. I see voodooHDA under my system preferences, but when I try to click the arrows to select speakers, there isn't anything there. It appears to be disabled. When I check my hardware, there is no audio installed.

Is there a way to detect what sound card is built into my mobo? I think it was using Realtek High Definition Audio manager for windows.

Run lspci from OSX86Tools, locate audio card, then go to this site and find out the device info.

Thank you. This is the line that the LSPCI app gives me:

Audio device [0403]: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller [8086:27d8] (rev 01)

It also picks up this (which is what is showing up in my sound options:

Audio device [0403]: ATI Technologies Inc RV620 Audio device [Radeon HD 34xx Series] [1002:aa28]

So I need a way to install the Intel Sound Card. Any ideas on what to use?

Well, the voodoHDA must work, but it doesn't. Strange... Post a screenshot of System Preferences>Sound>Output.

It is obviously a HDMI audio on your VGA card. Not sure if it works.

I just installed voodoohda again after uninstalling it. When I go to Ouput, it says that no devices were found. When I open voodoohda, it says that the path the registry wasn't found and it gives me strange symbols under the selection arrows. Still no sound. I've tried installing several different audio kexts. Could that be causing my problem? Is it possible to revert the audio back to the default state?

From what I've been reading, it seems like voodoohda should work. I think I might have messed up the kext files or something. I might need to try a clean OS install again and start from scratch. Maybe a little too much experimenting... Unless you can give me a way to revert to default stuff without doing a complete reinstall.
