dano281988
Hi I am a long time mac user, and a short time hackintosh user. about a year ago i hackintoshed my dell mini 10V and i like it, but it is obviously small. I followed a really comprehensive tutorial and that is what i was looking to do now. As it says in my topic title, I am looking to spend under 2000 dollars when all is said and done including 2 monitors. I am looking for: an i7 processor 2 Tb WD hard drive 8-12 GB RAM graphics card that will run 3-4 monitors (one for an entertainment center) wireless card esata connections possibly usb 3.0 connections 2 X 23" monitors i was hoping that there is a list of hardware that works together and that will also support OSX. I know there are a ton of lists of hardware that works but i am specifically looking for a tutorial from someone that has done it. I am looking for the correct bootloaders to use and all of the other programs and kexts that i will need to get the machine running. I am just in that dangerous zone of computer literacy where i know a little but not enough to do this all on my own. if anyone has a link or a personal experience/ advice to share with me, please respond to this post. Alessandro17
I am looking for: an i7 processor 2 Tb WD hard drive 8-12 GB RAM I'll start with the first 3. 1)Core i7 950, great value for money. 2)A Western Digital Caviar Black. 3)RAM: 8GB means dual channel, 12GB means (most likely) triple channel. Thus you probably want either 6 or 12GB. My advice: a Corsair Dominator triple channel kit. Thanks for the input! what i am really searching for is someone that has put a whole machine together somewhere near my price range that has any issues that i may run into... i know these are all pretty much "one off" machines, but with my experience level, i am really looking to pretty much copy someone's specs so i can use the files and the .kext files that they had to use Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/235219-looking-for-a-build-that-will-cost-me-1500-2000-i-am-hoping-for-specifics/#findComment-1569709 Share on other sites

I know it is a little lame but i want to get one that is working... after that i may go into some experimenting and getting creative but for this first one, i want a reliable machine with a good tutorial to get my going Thanks for all of the help! Alessandro17
Basically your main concern is what mobo to buy. Most Asus and Gigabyte work, but I am not an expert of socket 1366 motherboards.
