Damiankossek
Hi my friends, sorry for my bad english My HW: Gigabyte GA-945GCMX-S2 Intel Pentium Dual Core 1.8GHZ GeForce 9800GT 2GB RAM I installed Snow Leopard (RETAIL) and everything works fine but if i overclock my processor for about 2.5GHZ then i can't boot into osx because i have "still waiting for root device...". Windows works fine at this configuration. P.S I overclocked to the 2.17GHZ and works but i cant overclock more Any ideas ? Thanks. maarten12100
Mayby you just changed some bios settings are you sure it is on ahci otherwise its a no chance Try connecting a usb hard drive this might fix it and get you in mac os x on problematic chipsets It could be that u somehow overheated the hdd controling chipset but this is rare to happen. Damiankossek
All options in the BIOS are set correctly. If you overclock the processor to 2.5 GHz is the system does not load when windows is working properly, eg if I come back to it's 2.2GHz system works and loads correctly. R4F43L
The motherboard in my signature is the same problem! But I install Snow Leopard on IDE HD, and the system works in overclocking When I start the system, it does not show the connections sata, sata HD and sata dvd drive. With overclocking, the system does not recognize the mac sata connections, only in IDE I used sata controller (IOATAFamily, AppleIntelPIXATA) and did not work Any solution? Thanks Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/235107-still-waiting-for-root-device-after-overclocking/#findComment-1571379 Share on other sites
