swm5126
So I've been trying to get Hazard's SL 10.6.2 installed on my system for the past few hours. I read in about a million different places the AHCI needed to be enabled to install, so naturally I enabled it. I spent probably 3 hours and various drive combinations and boot flags and still couldn't get into the installer. The one time that I disabled AHCI in my BIOS out of curiousity, the install DVD booted up just fine. Am I misunderstanding something? My fresh install will not boot, kernel panics with IOATAFamily or something like that so I probably selected the wrong thing in the install. Motherboard: ASUS M3A78-EM Southbridge: SB700 Is there a way to fix this without reinstalling? I don't mind reinstalling but I'm not sure what to pick when it comes to the SATA stuff. If anyone could help that'd be great. Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/234956-ahci-confusion-on-1062/ Share on other sites
gsw953
Did you try enabling AHCI after the install.I had this happen to me using Hazzard and a Toshiba laptop(L300).It would only install with AHCI disabled but booted fine after re-enabling Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/234956-ahci-confusion-on-1062/#findComment-1568033 Share on other sites
