CptSlash
Hello everyone, I've been using my Snow Leopard without any problems for quite some time, until I decided it is time for a clean installation. Everything went fine, installed as planned using same iAtkos S3 v2 DVD, same options etc. Only that this time I have some strange graphics problems: 1. Slow UI animations (i.e opening Applications Folder, Minimizing using Gene Effect, etc.) 2. QuickTime slowness - low fps when I tried playing a movie 3. Adobe Flash problems - when I installed the latest version, Safari seemed to crash by the first sight of Flash on any site. I reinstalled since then and the pre-installed version seems to work 4. In Desktop and Screensaver Preferences I am missing the Translucent Menu Bar option 5. In System Profiler, under Display I have VRAM (Total): 32 MB, where I should have a total of 512 VRAM. It somewhat reminds of the problem described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3479 Only that the resolution they give is doing a clean install and updating, which I did a couple of times now and nothing changed. Any suggestions that would resolve the problem are appreciated since this is rendering my entire OS unusable. Thanks in advance. Solution Use NVEnabler instead of EFI Strings
CptSlash
Well since the only change that was made was the second HDD I decided to remove it, than to do a clean install, nothing changed, problem sticks
CptSlash
bump Note: I looked into Activity Monitor, nothing that drains resources or anything.. edit: I just noticed that I do not have "Translucent Menu Bar" option available, and when I go into System Profiler under Graphics/Display I have VRAM(Total): 32 MB where I should have 512 MB's of total VRAM.. edit 2: First post updated
