BeanJardo
Hi All, I wonder if you might be able to help me! My Powerbook G4 went crazy a few months ago - I managed to Google my problem and found that it was not recognising my RAM banks. (I have 1GB RAM - 512MB in each slot) I've only really just had the chance to look in to it - I've opened it up through the keyboard and turns out that the little white plastic arms have snapped! Both have snapped off the lower bank & on the upper slot, one of the little 'lugs' have snapped off - meaning that it no longer holds the RAM in place properly. The computer will boot up if I hold it all in place - If not, it does a few beeps, but doesn't boot. My question is - How on earth can I fix this? I can't see how it's held to the motherboard? I've found the following picture (thanks, Google!): (The part I'm referring to is right at the bottom - The elongated U shape ...) Please don't tell me I have to get a whole new board? Any help will be great! Thanks a million! (And now I'm off for a nosey 'round the rest of the site!)
