grey loading screen then black, monitor goes off/standby mode

Hi everyone,

 

I've been trying to install snow leopard on an Asus Rampage II extreme board, by restoring the snow leopard install dvd to an external hard drive, and then installed chameleon 2.0 rc3 on the same drive. I get passed the darwin boot up, load up my drive, then I get to the grey apple loading screen where it begins to load for around 5 seconds then the screen seems to turn off and go black and my monitor light begins to flash which usually indicates its in standby mode.

 

I've tried loads of different install methods but they always end up with the monitor turning off.

 

I have a GTX 260 if that helps anything.
