Solidpace
[EDIT] - New error in last post. Hi, I have a legal, retail version of Snow Leopard (10.6.3) that I'm trying to install on my desktop PC that currently lacks an OS (specifications below), but I can't get it to install. Motherboard: Intel FG965M CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (Kentsfield) Video card: EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 320MB RAM: 4GB DDR2 (If you need any more info please ask!) I've tried ##### and Boot-132, but get the same error with both. Using ##### as an example, this is what I've been doing: --Boot PC from the CD/DVD drive with ##### CD inserted --All fine, I get to the ##### screen, and replace the ##### CD with the Snow Leopard DVD, after which I press F5. --##### recognises that the SL DVD has been inserted, and I then proceed to enter any specific combination of commands (I've tried more or less every combination of for example cpus=Z, rd=diskZsZ, -x, -f, platform=X86PC, platform=ACPI etc., always followed by -v) and then press enter. Not much more to say really, it always gets stuck at "Still waiting for root device" which it keeps repeating until I turn it off. Thanks for any and all help! I've been at this for almost a week to no avail.

Solidpace
Restore SL and a bootloader to a USB device and try again. Is there any way of doing this without having access to a computer running Mac OS? Currently only have Linux and Windows available.
McPowr
Is there any way of doing this without having access to a computer running Mac OS? Sorry, i am not a Windows expert. I did this on my old G5. The Retail Disc didnt work though. I needed a distro. Do you have SATA HDDs? Its important for people to know what kind of drives you have - IDE or SATA. I did find it in the BIOS, under a submenu of a submenu. Didn't have any effect though, unfortunately.
Solidpace
Hi again, After some further trying back and forth, I managed to get all the install files off the Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.3 DVD copied to a temporary 10GB HFS+ partition on my main HD (all through a Linux LiveUSB), and I then installed Chameleon to a separate USB drive. I am now able to start booting, through Chameleon from the USB drive, the install files on the 10GB partition on my hard drive. Until I hit the next error, that is. Attached are the new errors I see on screen (apologies for the bad quality image). I seem to have overcome the original "Still waiting for root device" error like this, which is always a good thing, but does anyone have any ideas as to how to solve the above new error? Thanks again!
