MasterJB
My OSX86 boots perfectly but after a little time, my ps/2 mouse and keyboard stopped to work. OS X86 doesn't crach because when i push the power button of my laptop, OSX asks me what i want to do : (reboot, log out...) Instead of that my mouse and keyboard are working perfectly...when they don't have crashed. I think it's a problem of ps/2 drivers but i'm not a pro coder my mouse is in fact a Synaptics touchpad Sorry if it exists language mistakes, i'm french Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/2344-my-ps2-devices-stop-working/ Share on other sites
hookah
I had this problem on my acer laptop... everything works for a while then the mouse locks up and then the keyboard... now I don't know if this is "really" a workaround, but goto the power-saving settings and turn everything off - so no power saving settings are enabled... goto apple -> system preferences -> energy saver. put both sliders to "never" and turn of "put hard disks to sleep" I have been using the laptop all day - works fine, I am also using an external USB mouse which works fine - it's been left for an hour or so and still works!!! might as well give it a go and see if it helps... good luck... I just want to run 1280x800 (using ATI 9200 mobile) then I will be tres happy (only french I know ) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/2344-my-ps2-devices-stop-working/#findComment-15667 Share on other sites
hookah
ok, turns out the energy saver options dont seem to do much - except leave your machine on all day... i didn't change these back by the way. it was true that I have used it all day without a problem - having just used it without the usb mouse connected it locks up again... additionally, if the mouse is connected after both the touch pad and keyboard lock it recovers the mouse but not the keyboard... so far it seems so long as you boot with a usb mouse connected everything works... like i said all day... personally i'm quite happy with that solution myself as I use it in a desk environment anyway. this has been tested on my acer 2003wlmi Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/2344-my-ps2-devices-stop-working/#findComment-15811 Share on other sites
MasterJB
Ok I'm back ! Sunday, I worked all a day on OSX86 and my mouse and keyboard worked very well, but yesterday, this problem reappeared. I'm very angry . I don't know what to do because the powersaving idea had ever come in my mind (sorry for the fast traduction but I haven't a French-English dictionary) and it doesn't work. PS for hookah : My screen resolution on my ati radeon mobility 9700 128mb is 1280*1024 All is perfectly working...but my mouse and keyboard don't Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/2344-my-ps2-devices-stop-working/#findComment-16104 Share on other sites
