Hi everyone, those are my specs

i3 540@3.06GHz

Asus P7H55-M/USB3

4GB 1600mHz DDR3 RAM

1TB Caviar Green HDD

Sapphire HD4670

And this is my problem

Using ##### supported+retail 10.6 DVD i am able to boot in safe mode in 10.6 with vanilla 10.4.0 mach_kernel. if i do the comboupdate and run ##### it will boot, but won't get me in the login screen. it's like there's no signal to the monitor(i'm on a CRT and the monitor status light becomes yellow instead of green). the weird thing is that on some lines in the boot process i see that "log will be saved in /dev/console/" but if i go there from a second partition (i have two OSX partition so in case one goes wrong or an update screws it i can have my back covered by simply using CarbonCopyCloner) i can't see anything, so i can't tell what's going on precisely in the boot process. i patched my DSDT table, no errors & 67 optimizations and added almost all useful hacks (except time machine one, i wouldn't use it anyway and it was simply too much hassle for something i don't plan to use). for now, i keep having this problem no matter what i change. my only kext is FakeSMC(once i can boot i can make sound&ethernet to work). as long as i can tell nothing is wrong, or at least i can't see nothing wrong while looking at the text scrolling, if i had a log maybe i'll see something that now i can't. Suggestions anyone?

Also, my board is nowhere listed as supported, so i can include my DSDT and share my experience if everything goes right. Sorry for my bad english but i'm italian

Hi ipino,

My understanding is, that dsdt is very near to BIOS and your additional cards/Hardware Configuration. I had equal problems by using dsdt file. I thought - guys who have the same board ... I can use the dsdt, because its The same configuration. As a result i get crashes, kernel panics.

I think The good way is TO setup your down dsdt by using The http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=142434. You can type in your own configuration, used graphic cards...

For me it worked.

i used DSDTSE to patch my DSDT, and the only PCI slot i used is for graphic card. i edited manually my DSDT, so it was created by me and not copied from dsdt database, therefore it's not a problem with being tailored for another system. if i knew a way to log the things that come out at boot, maybe i could see something i had not noticed before, any ideas on how to do it?

SOLVED! Apparently i had to use 10.6.2 kext for my video card, and everything went smooth. tomorrow i'll upload my dsdt in the database and do some other community things like osx86 compatibility list and so on

Please, share DSTD.
