Giorgio_multi
Probably you have installed onto a logical partition. Mac OSX must be on a primary partition

Try retail installation with boot cd and the original Snow DVD. If your Vaio has a Nvidia Graphics Card, probably you'll have graphic acceleration only with external monitor. Kmunky
Try retail installation with boot cd and the original Snow DVD. actually this is exactly what i'm trying to do i put the ##### cd in the drive and when it tries to boot i get that error.(i can't get to the step where i should switch the ##### cd in the drive with the snow leopard 1.6.3 retail dvd; that error is all i get) If your Vaio has a Nvidia Graphics Card, probably you'll have graphic acceleration only with external monitor. nope, i have onboard video card(gma 950) UPDATE: it finally works(there was something wrong with the ##### cd). But....now when i insert the mac os dvd and press enter to start installation all i get is a blank screen(first i get the mac icon an and that spning thing and then just a light gray screen ) an nothing happens. now...what should i do next? PS: if i will get it to the installation screen how should i format my partitions form disk utility?
