Guys

Has anyone managed to get SL installed using WS 7.1.2 build (301548)?

In paticular using an i7 proc (I have an 980X).

I want to give it a stab but need to know if it will work.

Thinking of using iATKOS S3 V2 ISO, unless someone else knows better?

Please post your vmx config and steps you took if poss.

Will save me some time and searching forums etc...

Cheers!

My config:

i7 980x

Asus Rampage III VT enabled

VMWS 7.1.2

12GB Mem

Crucial C300 SSD 256GB

Sorry, not sure how I missed your request, the answer is it should work fine with either Donk's darwin iso 310 method or Albert's Unlocker. It is best to use a retail DVD purchased from Apple, but they are currently shipping 10.6.3 which has an issue with Core i series CPU's, so you will need to add a CPUID mask to your VMX config see link below:

Then all should work fine, for Workstation we (including Donk) would recommend using Albert's Unlocker, link below:

Good luck, MSoK.

Update - installed 10.6.0 on WS 7.1 using your advised methods. Upgraded to 10.6.4

and everything works perfect. Now, if only to get 3d acceleration in vm..

Thanks!

Glad the recommended methods worked, you might have to wait for 3D acceleration, not on VMware's road map currently.
