Before I write anything. My motherboard is GA-EP45-UD3L and I have only WD300GB plugged in with windows 7 installed

I am trying to install mac os with either of these guides

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=187906

or

http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/04/ibo...ac-os-x-on.html

BUT my problem is when I have AHCI enabled..it just goes into windows 7..it does not go into ##### or boot CD that was provided in the link above

Do I need to completely format the hard drive? I have tried both with DVD and CD with no luck on both.

EDIT: Funny, I formatted that hard drive but with AHCI enabled even my window 7 disk will not boot up..it is just stuck at "Verifying DMI POOL DATA"..

/sigh

Hi,

if i have the right understanding of that feature, it is a interface feature for connecting hard disk ... the whole hard disk. Its indifferent what operating system you use. So both operating systems should support the AHCI feature, if you using that.

Snow Leopard is installing now!

I was up until 5AM last night but finally figure it out.

Thanks!

How did you figure it out, I am having the exact same problem, just cannt get it to boot to USB or CD/DVD with AHCI enabled.

Also for anyone who is interested by default Win 7 64bit does not boot with AHCI turned on, there is a registry setting that need to be changed.
