Notebook name: HP Pavilion dv4-1428dx Entertainment Notebook PC

Product Number: NV166UA#ABA

I am using; Mac.Leopard.10.5.6.OSx86.OpenSource.Distro.v1.1.PPF6-iPC

Here is the list of audio drivers available in this OSx86 DVD:

According to HP's website the driver name is: IDT High Definition Audio CODEC

In Windows 7's device manager it appear as: High Definition Audio CODEC

But on HP's Product Specifications it's called: Altec Lansing with SRS Premium Sound

Can anyone help me get audio working on this Laptop. This is the only thing that isn't working, then I would be so happy. Finally! A fully functional OSx86 install on my Laptop. Yay!

thanks

Hi, thanks for the prompt response.

I downloaded this file, do I run it in OSx86 or Windows? Because I just reinstalled Windows 7 but I have it imaged so it's so problem, I can re-install OSx86 in about 20 minutes.

From what I can tell it looks like it probably runs on OS X.

I'll do it in a few hours, just got up, man did I sleep. L0l.

First off, how do you know this..............?

2nd off, thank you, I will report back later with the results if it worked or not.

3rd I know how to install kexthelper but when I reboot do I have to type "-f"? Or do I have to delete some kinda file in the harddrives directory? I read another tutorial that said to. I don't know what the C:\ directory is called on a Mac sorry.

4rth can you please explain exactly how to "Editi the AudioMidiSetup to 44100,0 Hz". I'm kind of an OS X Newbie, L0l.

It does not seam to have worked, but I haven't edited the AudioMidiSetup to 44100,0 Hz yet so that might be why.

Can you tell me how to do that now?

Because ur Soundchip is like mine.

The Midi Edit is only 4 the quality.

Only install VodooHDA with Kexthelper and reboot without any -f or something.

(U need to delet AppleHDA (-System/Library/Extensions/)
