mulder1013
I have a pc with a asus P5E3 Pro , with x48 and ICH9R, and i know that someone with the same mobo was able to do hackintosh. But i dont know what method , flavor or distribution (i don't now the correct word) he used. I also have a Point of view Nvidia GTX 470,cpu Intel Q6600,1 OCZ Vertex 120 GB SSD disk (although i will use only for win 7 , quite sure) , and 2 1TB Sata disks. Also , i have 8 GB DDR3 1333 Kingston Memory. Sound , mobo one. The specifications of the mobo, from asus are: Chipset Intel® X48 / ICH9R with Intel® Extreme Memory Profiles Technology Storage Southbridge 6 xSATA 3 Gb/s ports Intel Matrix Storage Technology Support RAID 0,1,5,10 Marvell 88SE6111 1 xUltraDMA 133/100/66 for up to 2 PATA devices LAN Marvell 88E8056 PCIe Gigabit LAN Audio Realtek ALC 1200 8 -Channel High-Definition Audio CODEC I have look at osx86project wiki , and although in the wiki didn't apear my mobo , but rampage formula is based also in the X48 and ICH9R and in the wiki said that works with 10.6.1 So i think that with 10.6.4 should work , no ? But what method /flavor use , i dont know. How can i now that is the better install method for my configuration ?
mulder1013
Well , googling i have found a forum where someone said that all was fine using iatkos v7 , and other one said that should work in Kalyway too , so i will look at that two "flavors" and see diferences between both and know what will be better. Although probably i will have to try with some distributions , not only one if i have no luck...
mulder1013
I have been investigating a bit , and it seems that with iATKOS S3 or ##### + ##### i could have a successful instalation. As i have read for use the ##### method is required a original Mac OS X retail dvd , and the ##### cd. So it is no need a modified Mac OS X like with iATKOS S3 (that i suppose, i think is a modified mac os x 10.6.3 to run in a pc ...) Is then the ##### method, better than others?
