novaris
I noticed these strips are present along the edges of the g4 cube's main chassis and also on the power mac g5's enclosure, between the main C-shaped body and the cheesegrated panels. http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/4649/dsc6687.jpg What are these used for? EMI shielding? can they tolerate 100-200degrees C? reason for asking is, I am sending a modded G5 case for some paint treatment and it requires high temp to cure it. thanks
avinash_4_ever
how did u come to the conclusion that it tolerates 100-200degress, ? the mac /pc runs in dc voltage and hardly generates 20-30 degrees of heat except for old harddrives. no it is just a power insulation to avoid , annoying power shocks to the people around it treating it as a puppy !
