djfingersuk
Hi everyone new to the forum just installed the Ideneb 10.5.5 and have a few questions for the experts here i hope someone takes time out to read this...remember im a newby don't slay me...lol I have recently installed Ideneb version 10.5.5 on to my Dell Optiplex 745. The system Dual boots if i press F8 at start up allowing me to select Windows 7 or the Osx operating system. Is there something that i can do to give me the option to choose my operating system at start up without pressing F8. Everything appears to be working except for the network card, Is there a patch available or do you now how to resolve the issue. My main reason for posting this is to find the best way to update to the latest Osx i believe this is 10.5.8. Is there another disk available or do i have to run each of the ideneb combo updates separately. I registered on the web site http://insanelymac.org and most be honest found it quite confusing because people have there own way of doing the upgrade. Is there a definitive guide that i can use. I can not find a later version of the Ideneby CD just a Ideneb V1.6 Lite wich does not appear to be compatible with my system. It boots but does not see the unformated OSX Journaled partition that i created. The Ideneb version 10.5.5. does not appear to have this issue , Not sure if i'm doing something wromg do i need to make the partion active aslo? My main reason for upgrading is to allow me to run the new login 9 music production software, I'm quite impressed with what i have seen so far, the apps seem to run a lot more stable than in windows, I have spent hours re-installing the operating systems due to various issue when trying to upgrade. Hope you can help Dell Optiplex 745 Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.20 HGz Installed Memory 1.00 GB High Definition Ausioo Device Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-111D USB Drive Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/232451-ideneb-1055-update-on-dell-optiplex-745/ Share on other sites

djfingersuk
Managed to find an Ideneb 10.5.7 ISO and i was able to install it without any issues. Attempted to install Logic Audio 9 and got the error not enough Vram 64MB required. I'm going to buy another 1GB of Ram hopefully that will resolve that issue. Thinking about running the Combo update to 10.5.8 looks a little more tricky with addition of these .kext files. Still cant get the Broadcom Xtreme 57xx Network card to work but i'll see what happens after the upgrade to 10.5.8 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/232451-ideneb-1055-update-on-dell-optiplex-745/#findComment-1553786 Share on other sites
Panos2408
Logic Audio 9 needs OSX 10.6.2 if i am not mistaken I ve seen it in another post somewhere in here. Maybe that's the source of your problem. I don't have a clue about H-Dosh but if yyou ask me go with Ableton Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/232451-ideneb-1055-update-on-dell-optiplex-745/#findComment-1574347 Share on other sites
