I just got an evga sr-2 with dual quad core xeon e5620's and 12 Gb of ram.

Is there any sort of guide or way of installing snow leopard on my computer?

I've run across a few threads on different forums with successful individuals who have installed it on their computers with similar build, but no tutorial of any sort or even any guide. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. I managed to get in contact with a guy who got it working, and have asked for help.

So far I have had no luck with the standard bootloaders such as #####, chameleon etc... :P , (keep getting some error about ACHI, I think) but there is a dev that is working on a bootloader and kexts for the SR-2 from the correspondence I have had with this guy.

I found a boot cd that worked staff, tested and approved.

I downloaded the image file here:

http://www.mediafire.com/?064nia2a8d0xn52 (has two versions Standard and Legacy) used the Normal.

after giving the boot, put the Snow Leopard DVD, press F5, and type:

-x -v arch=i386 cpus=6 busratio=20

in my case was Xeon X5650 busratio cpus = 6 = 20

if another processor just change the number of cores multiplied 4 or 6 and the processor 20, 21, 23, 24 or 25.

Detail:

In SR-2 is thus:

- Processor 1 disabled

- 4GB of RAM only (not load more)

- ICHR10 - set as AHCI

Once installed kexts and everything, i activate the second processor and puts the rest of the memories in my case is 12GB.

Here it worked, not only have the Marvel network driver, if anyone gets going on here please.

good luck to all.

Install was a complete success. Now I am configuring the bootloader.

Where would a good place to find kexts for my computer be?

I tried it and it didn't work for me-stalled. What bios settings are you using on the SR2 to get your install to work? thanks for any help

Interesting! Thanks for the useful info! I'm curently waiting for my evga SR-2 PSU to be delivered to boot my SR-2 based system and one of the first things I'm going to try is to get MacOSX working so I do have one question: What "kexts and everything" did you install?
