rbilsbor Posted September 18, 2010 Share Posted September 18, 2010 My D-Link DWA-556 is recognized by SL and was working fine for a while, but now it is exhibiting some very strange behavior. I've already tried removing and adding AtherosFix.kext, which doesn't seem to make a difference either way. I've messed around with every setting I could think of, but it still won't work. The symptoms are: --Wireless works for a few seconds, it has a full-strength signal --Then it stops, sometimes after a few seconds, sometimes after a few hours (the airport shows full strength and thinks it's connected to the internet, but pages won't load, files won't download, etc) --If I go into Network Preferences and do Diagnostics, sometimes it will refresh and work again, sometimes not --Sometimes it will work for a full day and then stop Very confounding! Has anyone else experienced strange behavior with the 556, and can anyone recommend alternatives if this proves to be an unfixable issue? This is already my second Wi-Fi attempt (the first was an Edimax EW-7711UAn USB stick that required the ugly applet and sucked up 15% of CPU constantly). Any help is GREATLY appreciated!
