Well, can't say 100%, but most likely it will be OK to istall OS X. I have system with the same Socket and CPU. It works without any serious problem. One will need to use a patched kernel...

EDIT:

Dell PowerEdge 1600SC mobo
Actually it is http://www.xpcgear.com/supermx5deigg.html Supermicro X5DEi-GG Serverworks MB

I'm afraid not. Read this quotation from the guide you are referring to

NOTE: Just like the last post, this guide is focused specifically on the hardware I suggested in the previous guide—specifically the motherboard. If you try following this guide on other hardware, there's a very good chance it won't work as advertised.
If you would click on the link provided, you would notice that:

  • different motherboard is shown
  • totally different CPU is shown

The guide assumes that you have vanilla-compatible hardware, so you could run a stock OS X kernel and use unmodified system files (more or less) on it.

Your hardware IS NOT vanilla compatible because:

  • the CPU you are using can not run original OS X kernel because it doesn't support SSSE3 instructions - only SSE2 and SSE3 + EMT64
  • the chipset you are using can not be used without some modification/addition of files

To conclude, you should look for some other guide that is aimed for SSE3 CPUs. Though most of them may be outdated.
