I am trying to get OS X working on a machine with a ASUS P7P55D-E LX board and a Core i5-750. I am using ##### and ##### to do it.

The installation goes smoothly, and when the system boots with ##### for the first time, everything is working correctly. After the 10.6.4 combo update and #####, the machine will not boot. It gets stuck in a reboot loop every time I try to turn it on.

I at first assumed the problem was with #####, so on a future install, I tried just running the combo update and booting with ##### again. I had the same problem. Whenever the machine reboots, it does not produce a core dump, so I have no idea what the problem is. I've also tried booting in verbose mode, and the last thing I see mentions the SMC, but fakeSMC is installed, so that should not be an issue.

I have also tried the 10.6.3 combo update, and it produces the same problem.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
