Hi, I've been trying to get this new machine up and running for a while and all I got are kernel panics before installation.

The machine specs are this:

Mainboard: ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO

Chipset: AMD 785 + SB710

CPU: AMD Athlon II X3 435 2.9 GHz

RAM: 2 GB Kingston DDR3 1333MHz

Video: On-board ATI Radeon HD4200 (128MB Sideport memory)

Sound: VIA VT1708S

HDD: WD Caviar 500GB

DVD: LG Super Multi

BIOS settings are as recommended, LPT & serial disabled, AHCI enabled, Cooln'Quiet disabled, etc.

I can't even get to the install screen, I've tried cpus=1, busratio, etc to no avail.

If I set SATA mode to "IDE", it gets a little further (grey screen asking for reboot) so I think it has something to do with AHCI (immediate kernel panic in AHCI mode), but don't know what to do next.

I've already install Leopard in my notebook, so I have some experience with os x.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi,

If you use the mod cd from nawcom then install will be easy. You just have to make sure that usb is on full speed.

I have a fully functional (except for sleep) hackintosh with a asus M4A785TD-M EVO mainboard.

Hello,

I am very new to Hackintosh's and I would really like to get this up and running. I managed to use iDeneb 1.6 Lite (10.5.8) and install Leopard on my hard drive, but after that I can't seem to boot it up no matter what boot flags I use. Obviously I'm using AHCI mode for my DVD drive and my HDD, but I still can't seem to get it to work. Verbose was usually hanging at what appeared to be my NIC drivers receiving a MAC address and then it would completely halt (and I let it sit for a few hours). I haven't gotten that far since then and I continually end at USB controllers forcing sleep ability, or something along those lines.

ANY help with boot flags or possibly another OSX86 version would be very helpful. I have a retail DVD of Snow Leopard, but I don't have ready access to a working Mac (besides an ancient iMac G3 running Tiger)
