Avery Kucan
i changed systemversion.plist from 10.5.5 to 10.6.8, and now all the apps say "mac osx 10.4.6 or newer is requiored current version is "0.0.0""" i changed it beck, even with -x safe mode, but it still does not let me run ANYTHING!!! even textedit, or safari, or chrome, or system settings. it boots to desktop, and finder, but everything else thinks it is mac os 0.0.0 instead of 10.5.
GOLSnip
OS X doesn't store its system version only in that file. IIRC, that file has been written to be a safe check for developers to get info about the OS... But why have you changed it? It's a file reserved to the system, you should never mess around with them anyway unless you know 100% what will happen. Maybe using terminal will work. Giorgio_multi
You can not change 10.5.5 to 10.6.4, are two different Operating Systems. You can only upgrade your System to 10.5.8. For Leopard (10.5.x) the 10.6.x doesn't exist.
