P35-DS3R optical sound

Hi,

GA P35-DS3R

4GB (2 x 2GB) RAM

1TB Seagate SATA HDD

NV GT240 1GB Graphic Card

ASUS DVD

USB Keyboard/Mouse

Speaker Logitech Z5500

 

I install using the boot cd *Kakewalk 2.2 (burn from Windows) with no issue at all!

 

After install, i select the EP45-UD3LR and everything works like a charm.

 

Audio/LAN/Graphic works great but i can't select optical out from sound option.

 

I have 4 options i can pick from the sound option (output) - Internal Speakers, headphone, Line out, Line out (build in line output), i tried all 4 with optical link to my z5500 but nothing no luck, any suggestion?

edit: this is my 2nd install, my 1st install was last night and i play with the kext from kexts.com by downloading those ACL889a binary/patch etc.. endup from with sound to no sound at all, getting annoyed, wiped the hdd and install from scartch. I am planning to use CCC to make image of the whole hdd b4 i make any changes. Any other suggestion welcome.

thanks superbar, i download/install thoes files but no help.

I have sound but not from the optical out from the mobo..and i can't select optical out from system preference/sound

 

any idea?
