Blue Screen? crap.

I installed snow leopard from a distro called "SnowLeo" to my hdd using vmware and when it finishes booting i hang at a blue screen. if i unplug my monitor i hear the introductory video playing.

 

if i boot -x mode everything works fine and my monitor is recognized, i've tried setting nvinject from "safe mode" to "root" then -f booting, but no dice. i've heard that if i switch to using the other out port on my gfx card then things will work, however i dont have a vga to dvi adaptor. is there a way to force vga out?

You can override the display port order by changing the NVCAP value you're using in your injection method.

 

Google 'NVCAP'. Most up to date information is available at the Project OS X forum.

no, that wasn't it. fairly certain i've done everything right, still no dice. got a friend to let me borrow a dvi-vga adaptor, didnt work. made sure my device id of 0x004510de was in all the kexts, got my nvcap from my dumped rom, nothing. cept the blue screen now every once in a while flashes brighter.

No, really. Keep trying. I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried.

 

The NVCAP from your dumped ROM will not work, as I said you should try to use a custom NVCAP value in your injection method.

 

There's a tool out there somewhere called NVCAPMaker - though I've heard that it generates wrong NVCAP values maybe you'll get lucky. It seems to have worked for some people.

 

Also read the NVENabler release thread at the ProjectOSX forum and pay special attention to where Krazubu talks about display-cfg values.

yeah, used nvcapmaker. will keep trying, just currently occupied restoring a windows tablet pc. right pain in the bum when you dont get reinstall media.
