Hello,

i read a lot about installing and tried several methods including the Lifehacker USB Pendrive Install w/o knowing anything.

Then I tried ##### Dual Boot Install and at last the Boot132 Method . Unfortunately the recommended files are offline, so I used original Bootfile from blackosx (here). In the ASrock-Thread was a user able to install a 10.6 but I can't figure out howto.

In the first two methods I get the (seems to be common) kernel panic

Should have 2 Threads but only found 3
for Die 0"@/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-1456.1.25/osfmk/i386/cpu_threads.c:1131

In the last method I got a different error but I can't recall.

I guess I have to build and insert a custom DSDT file but I'm not sure how to do that besides I understand not even half of what people talk about here. But I'm trying!

Can anyone provide me with a method that works or with a DSDT file for my motherboard?

Thank you very much.

JD

My specs:

ASRock 945GM-S

Core2-Duo E8400 3.0GHz

SATA/IDE

Nvidia Geforce 9500 GT

Realtek RTL 8102E

4 GB RAM

Ok I figured a way to install osx by using the old version from blackosx which was provided here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=190718 or direct DL Link (1.14 MB) of Version 1.01 of the Boot 132 CD.

Now I have to solve the problem that I always need the Boot CD to fire up my installed OSX.

Problems:

1) Couldn't install Chameleon-2.0-RC2-r640 provided with the Boot CD so I installed the recent version Chameleon-2.0-RC4-r684. I had to run the Retail DVD again to use these commands:

sudo fdisk -f boot0 -u -y /dev/disk0
and
sudo dd if=boot1h of=/dev/disk0s2

but that might have been a mistake!

2) The boot-File doesn't seem to work here since I get a kernel panic when starting from HD. Chameleon starts fine.

Any suggestions?

Was anyone able to install latest Snow Leopard Update 10.6.8v1.1 or even better: Lion?

I'm still not able to find a solution for Sound Input. (Ok I didn't check for quite a while.).

Timemachine works by the way!

What I've stumbled upon was a dsdt file for this board (I think). Can anyone confirm it's valid and working?
